Schedule Preferences

The Schedule Preferences feature allows you to enter, view, or edit your schedule preferences such as start times, lunch length, and days off, etc. Each agent's unique preferences are taken into consideration when schedules are generated. You may enter schedule preferences for a date range that already exists, or you may create a new date range to define preferences for. Default preferences may also be defined in this module. Each type of preference (such as hours per week or stop time) your supervisor has given you permission to edit is displayed in a separate tab in the Schedule Preferences module.

Click the Schedule Preferences link located on the Navigation Bar to display the Schedule Preferences module. This link will only be available if the WebStation Schedule Preferences feature has been enabled, and if the MU or agent data value is configured to allow schedule preferences to be entered.

What's in this Topic?

When you click the Schedule Preferences link, the Custom page of the Schedule Preferences module is displayed, similar to Figure 1-82. NOTE: This page is also shown any time you click on a date range link in the other schedule preferences pages.

Figure 1-82 . Schedule Preferences - Date Range

Date Range Page

The initial Schedule Preferences page shows the date ranges that are available for you to edit your schedule preferences for. There is also a "Default" date range for which you can edit preferences. The Default preferences are used on dates for which no other preferences exist. You are allowed to edit the actual date range dates, as well as add a new date range for which to add or edit schedule preferences. The following sections explain how you can add a new date range, edit an existing date range, delete preferences, or view and modify actual preferences.

If your supervisor has configured your MU or agent data value so that no preference types are available for agent access, then no tabs are accessible and you will not be able to choose a date range. Instead, the following message is shown on the Date Range page: "Your management unit has not yet been configured for entering schedule preferences."

View or Edit Default Date Range

To view or edit your "Default" preferences either click the Default link, or select the edit preferences link on the Date Range selection page. The preferences pages are displayed so you can view or edit your Default preferences. If your Default preferences have never been created, then a set of preferences using default values (which will be blank values for some fields) is shown in the preference pages. See View or Edit Schedule Preference Pages, 1-205 for details on editing your schedule preferences.

If the database tables cannot be locked when you attempt to edit your Default preferences, the following message is displayed:

"Your default preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again."

Edit Preferences

Click the edit preferences link to view or modify preferences for the selected date range. Once you click this link, you are able to view and edit preferences for the following preference pages (each type of preference is displayed on a separate tab). See the following sections for instructions on how to edit your schedule preferences for each type of preference:

NOTE: You will not see preference tabs for any preferences which your supervisor has not given you permission to edit.

Add a New Date Range

Click the add a date range link in the Date Range selection page to add a date range which you want to create preferences for. Clicking this link will display a page similar to Figure 1-83.

Figure 1-83 . Add Date Range
Start date

In the "start date" field enter a beginning date for the date range which the schedule preferences will be used. Use the format indicated in this field (M/d/yy) when entering a date, or you can select a date from the calendar by clicking the Calendar button.

End date

In the "end date" field enter an end date for the date range which the schedule preferences will be used. Use the format indicated in this field (M/d/yy) when entering a date, or you can select a date from the calendar by clicking the Calendar button.

Copy Preferences from Date Range

If you would like to choose a date range for which to copy preferences from, click the drop list button for the "Copy preferences from this date range" field and select either "Default" or one of the date ranges that has already been defined. If you do not want to copy preferences from another date range, then leave this field set to the default value "(none)", and no preferences will be copied to this new date range.

Continue or Cancel Date Range

Once you have entered start and end dates, and have selected a preference range to copy from (or selected "none"), then click the continue button to validate the start and end dates. If either of the dates is not valid, a message is shown indicating such. You will need to enter valid dates and select continue again. The preferences pages will then be displayed and you may view or modify preferences for this new date range as described in View or Edit Schedule Preference Pages, 1-205. If you have copied preferences from another date range, these preferences will be shown in the preferences pages for the new date range. If you did not copy preferences from an existing date range, or you copied preferences from a date range where no preferences have been defined, then a set of preferences using default values (which means "blank values" for some fields) will be shown in the preference pages.

If database tables are locked when preference records are trying to be copied to this new date range, then the following message will be displayed:

"Your preferences cannot be saved at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again."

You will need to wait until the database tables are not locked, then select continue again.

If you do not want to add this new date range, select cancel and no new date range will be added. You will be returned to the Date Range selection page.

Edit a Date Range

Click the edit date range link in the Date Range selection page to edit the start and end dates of the selected date range. Clicking this link will display a page similar to Figure 1-84.

Figure 1-84 . Edit Date Range
Start date

In the "start date" field, edit the beginning date for the date range which the schedule preferences will be used. Either enter a new date, or you can select a date from the calendar by clicking the Calendar button.

End date

In the "end date" field edit the end date for the date range which the schedule preferences will be used. Either enter a new date, or you can select a date from the calendar by clicking the Calendar button.

Save or Cancel Date Range Changes

Once you have modified "start" and "end" dates, then click the save button to validate the modified start and end dates. If either of the dates is not valid, a message is shown indicating such. You will need to enter valid dates and select save again. If the data cannot be locked for saving, a message will be displayed and you will need to try again. After saving, you will be returned to the Date Range selection page.

If you do not want to modify this date range, select cancel and the dates for this date range will not be modified. You will be returned to the Date Range selection page.

Delete Date Range (Preferences)

Click the delete link for the selected date range, to delete the preferences for this date range. Before the preferences can be deleted, TotalView must validate that no "special" preferences exist (which cannot be deleted). If no "special" preferences exist, then the preferences for this date range are deleted. If "special" preferences exist, the following message is displayed:

"A special preference has been entered for you for this date range. Therefore, it cannot be deleted." No change will be made in this case."

If the database tables are locked when you attempt to delete the Default preferences, then the following message is displayed:

"Your preferences cannot be deleted at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again."

If you delete your Default preferences, then any Default preferences that have been entered will be deleted. However, these values will be replaced with a set of preferences that use TotalView defaulted values (which means "blank values" for some fields).

View or Edit Schedule Preference Pages

To view or edit your default or specific date range preference pages, select either the edit date range link or the edit preferences link for the selected date range on the Date Range selection page, shown in Figure 1-82. You may also access the preferences pages by clicking the continue button when adding a new date range (see Continue or Cancel Date Range, 1-203). A tab is shown for each type of preference that you are allowed to view and modify. The following sections describe the fields on each preference page:

NOTE: Each preference page (tab) is arranged in alphabetical order.

If you have not been given permission to edit a particular preference page, but preferences exist for the currently selected date range for a particular page (preference type), the preference page will be shown in view-only mode. In this case, you will not be able to modify or delete these preferences. This is true for any preference page containing preference data, but which you do not have permission to edit.

Custom Preferences

The Custom preferences page, shown similar to Figure 1-85, allows you to view the priority of your preferences. These priorities allow the flexibility to determine what preferences are most important (e.g., start times, days off, lunch length, etc.). The schedule generation process will take into consideration each agent's unique custom preferences when generating schedules.

Figure 1-85 . Custom Preferences Page - View

Change the Date Range

The "Viewing preferences for" field displays the currently selected date range that you are viewing/editing preferences for. If you are viewing or editing default preferences, then this field will display "Default Date Range". Click the date range link to return to the Date Range selection page (see Date Range Page, 1-200). Here you may select a different date range, or edit the start or end date for this range.

Custom Priorities List

Each view-only item in the Custom Priorities list corresponds to a preference tab. Therefore, for tabs that you do not have permissions for, the corresponding Custom Priority item will not be displayed. "Start time consistency" is always shown in this list.

Priority

These are the priorities (1-7) assigned to each preference type, by order of importance. The lower the number, the higher the priority (for example, the preference labeled "1" is the most important preference to you). If no value has been assigned to a priority, the field is blank, and will not be considered when generating schedules.

Preference Type

This is the type of preference being prioritized. All preference types, except "Start time consistency" will correspond to a preference page.

Sorting the Priority List

You may sort by either column on this page by clicking on the column header. Click again to sort in descending order.

Edit your Custom Preference Priorities

NOTE: If your MU configuration does not allow Custom priorities to be entered, then the edit your custom preference priorities link will not be shown on the Custom page. Instead, the following message will be shown: "Changes may not be made because a special preference has been entered for you."

To edit your Custom preferences, click the edit your custom preference priorities link to display a page similar to Figure 1-86. This is the same data as shown in the "Custom" page, except you are able to edit the priorities.

Figure 1-86 . Edit Custom Priorities

Edit the Priorities for Preference Types

To edit your preference priorities, select the Priority drop list button for a preference type, and select a number (1-7 or blank), where 1 is the most important to you and 7 is the least important.

NOTE: You may still choose numbers 1-7, even if some of the preference types are not displayed. Choose blank if you do not want to prioritize a particular preference type.

Save or Cancel Custom Priorities

To save your modified custom preference priorities, click the save button. If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered more than once) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

To cancel the changes you made to custom priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Days Off Preferences

The Days Off preferences page, shown similar to Figure 1-87, allows you to view your prioritized days off patterns. The prioritization allows the flexibility to determine what days off patterns are most important to you. The schedule generation process will take into consideration each agent's unique days off pattern preferences when generating schedules.

Figure 1-87 . Days Off Preferences Page - View

Change the Date Range

The "Viewing preferences for" field displays the currently selected date range that you are viewing or editing preferences for. If you are viewing or editing default preferences, then this field will display "Default Date Range". Click the date range link to return to the Date Range selection page (see Date Range Page, 1-200). Here you may select a different date range, or edit the start or end date for this range.

Day Off Patterns

The view-only day off patterns spreadsheet lists out each day off pattern that has been prioritized for you, for the selected date range. Basically, each pattern (row) indicates whether you want to work or take off, for each day of the week. Any patterns that have not been given a prioritization, will not be shown on this page when it is initially displayed.

If no day off preferences have been entered, then the following text is shown in place of day off patterns: "No day off preferences have been entered for this date range".

Priority

These are the priorities (1-128) assigned to each day off pattern, which have been prioritized by order of importance. The lower the number, the higher the priority.

Days of Week

Each pattern consists of the days of the week, with a green check mark shown for each day of the week that you want to work and a red "x" shown for each day of the week you do not want to work. The days of the week are ordered beginning with the MU's first day of week.

Number of Days Off

This field shows the number of days off (0-7) in each weekly pattern.

Sorting the Day Off Spreadsheet

You may sort by any column on this page by clicking on the column header. Click again to sort in descending order.

Edit your Day Off Pattern Preferences

NOTE: If your MU configuration does not allow day off preferences to be entered, then the edit your day off pattern preferences link will not be shown on the Days Off page. Instead, the following message will be shown: "Changes may not be made because a special preference has been entered for you."

Edit the Priorities for Day Off Patterns

To edit your Days Off Pattern preferences, click the edit your day off pattern preferences link to display a page similar to Figure 1-88. This is the same data as shown in the "Days Off" page (see Day Off Patterns, 1-210), except you are able to edit the priorities for the weekly patterns.

Figure 1-88 . Edit Day Off Pattern Preferences

To edit your day off preference priorities, enter a unique number between 1-128 for as many patterns as you would like, where 1 is the most important to you and 128 is the least important.

NOTE: All 128 combinations of days on and off in a week are shown, but you do not have to enter a priority for each one. Only enter priorities for the patterns that you are interested in being scheduled for. If you enter priority numbers that are not contiguous, the numbers will be adjusted to be in order, once you save this page.

The "Days Off" column shows the number of days off (0-7) in each weekly pattern.

Auto-rank Priority Fields

Click the auto-rank button to automatically add a priority to any blank priority field. Each blank row will be populated with the first available priority number between 1 and 128. These blank rows are populated according to their current sort order. To best auto-rank your preferences, first sort the columns (see Sorting Day Off Pattern Columns, 1-212) so that your more desirable day off patterns will be closest to the top of the list. You can use the auto-rank feature if all, or some of the priority fields are left blank. Priorities that are not blank will not be modified.

Clear All Priority Fields

If you would like to clear all of the priority fields, click the clear all button. You might want to clear all fields if you are using the "auto-rank" feature to set your day off pattern priorities (see Auto-rank Priority Fields, 1-212).

Sorting Day Off Pattern Columns

You can sort by any column simply by clicking on the column header for that column. Click again to sort in descending order.

Save or Cancel Day Off Pattern Preferences

To save your modified day off pattern priorities, click the save button. If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered more than once) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

When the day off pattern preferences are saved, any numbers that are not consecutive will be adjusted so that the numbers are all consecutive. For instance, if you entered priorities 1, 3, and 5, then they will be saved as 1, 2, and 3.

To cancel the changes you made to your day off pattern priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Days per Week Preferences

The Days per Week preferences page, shown similar to Figure 1-89, allows you to view the preferences for the number of days per week you want to work. The days per week choices (1-8) allow the flexibility to determine the number of days per week preferences that are most important to you. To edit the hours per week that you want to work, click the edit your hours per week preferences link on the Hours per Week page to display a page similar to Figure 1-94.

Figure 1-94 . Edit Hours per Week Preferences

NOTE: If you have permission to edit this preference page, but have not been given permission to select any of the hours per week preference options, then the following message will be displayed: "Your MU configuration does not allow any options for entering hours per week preferences".

The option selected in this page, is the information shown in the "Hours per Week" page (see Hours per Week Table, 1-219). You are able to select a different option and/or edit the values for the hours per week option chosen. There are seven possible options from which to choose, to indicate the number of hours per week you prefer to work. If you do not see all seven options on this page, that means you have not been given permission to edit all of the hours per week preference options. The following options are available to choose as described below.

NOTE: You may only choose one option. All time entries must be between 0:00 and 168:00 hours (or blank). You may enter values as whole numbers (for example, "40") or as HH:MM (for example 40:00). You may enter minutes, but the minutes must be in 5 or 15 minute increments, depending on the schedule period length that has been set up by your supervisor.

List Preferred Week Lengths

Choose this option to be able to list up to 24 choices for the number of hours per week that you prefer to work. Once this option is chosen, enter a work week length between 0:00 and 168:00 hours. You can enter up to 24 preferences, but do not have to enter a value for all 24. These are listed in order of priority, with "1st" as the most desired number of hours per week that you want to work.

Range of Hours

Choose this option to be able to select the range of weekly hours that you would like to work, for instance you might want to work between 38 and 45 hours per week. You must enter a value for each field in this option.

As Few Hours as Possible

Choose this option if you want to be scheduled for as few hours as possible.

As Many as Possible

Choose this option if you want to be scheduled for as many hours as possible.

Work close to "x" Hours, between a Range (prefer more hours first)

Choose this option if you want to be scheduled to work as close to a certain number of hours as possible. Enter a value for the number of hours you would like to be scheduled for. In addition you can enter values for the optional fields, indicating that you do not want to work fewer than a specified number of hours, and not more than a specified number of hours. With this option, more hours are attempted to be schedule first when your schedule is being generated.

Work close to "x" Hours, between a Range (prefer less hours first)

This option is the same as Work close to "x" Hours, between a Range (prefer more hours first), 1-221, however with this option, fewer hours are attempted to be scheduled first when schedules are generated.

No Preference

Choose this option if you do not have a preference for the number of hours per week you would like to work.

Save or Cancel Hours per Week Preferences

To save your modified hours per week preferences, click the save button. If any errors occur while saving (for example, you left a time field blank for the option you chose) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

If all days of the week have the same lunch time preferences, then you will see a page similar to Figure 1-100. You are able to edit, delete, add, and prioritize lunch time preferences, as explained in this section. The lunch time preferences allow the flexibility to determine the lunch times that are most important to you. The schedule generation process will take into consideration each agent's lunch time preferences when generating schedules.

Note that Figure 1-101 shows as an example of a "special preference". You are not allowed to add, edit, or delete lunch time preferences for any day noted as having a "special preference". For more information on special preferences, see Special Preferences, 1-233.

Figure 1-99 . Lunch Time Preferences Page - View (Individual Days)

Figure 1-100 . Lunch Time Preferences Page - View (All Days)

Figure 1-101 . Lunch Time Preferences Page - View (Special Preferences)

Special Preferences

For any individual day (or "all days) where a "special preference" has been set up by your supervisor, the edit, delete, and add links will not be shown. If there are any days of the week where a special preference has not been entered, then you are able to edit, delete, add, and edit priorities for these days. In the example in Figure 1-101, a special preference has been entered for "Sunday", so edit, delete, and add links do not appear for this day (but are available for the other days of the week). The note below Sunday's preference indicates that a special preference has been entered.

Select Absolute or Relative Lunch Times

The "Lunch times are" field indicates the lunch time preference method that has been chosen for your lunch times for this date range. When you chance the preference method in this field, the wording in the Lunch Time Preference table will change to reflect the option you have chosen.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to change this field: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again"

Relative Lunch Times

If this field is set to "relative to my schedule start time", then lunch times listed on this preference page will represent a specific number of hours after your scheduled start time that you want to go to lunch. For example, if there is a forced start time of "4:00", this means you want to schedule your lunch to start 4:00 hours after your schedule start time. If lunch time preferences have not yet been defined, this field defaults to "relative to my schedule start time".

Absolute Lunch Times

If this field is set to "absolute clock times", then lunch times listed on this preference page will represent a specific time you want your lunch to start. For example, if there is a forced start time of "12:30", this means you want to schedule your lunch to start at 12:30 (regardless of the schedule start time).

Lunch Time Preferences Table

The view-only Lunch Time table shows your preferred lunch times for each day of the week (or for all days), for the selected date range. If no lunch time preferences have been entered for any day of the week, then the following text is shown in place of the lunch time preferences: "No lunch time preferences have been entered". If your supervisor has set up a template for your lunch times, then the following text is shown in place of the lunch time preferences: "Your preferences cannot be displayed because they contain template-specific information".

The following fields are shown in the lunch time preference table for individual days (see Figure 1-99), or for all days (see Figure 1-100) for the selected date range:

NOTE: Depending on whether you have chosen "relative" or "absolute" as the preference method, the wording for these preferences will reflect either actual times, or hours after start time. The preference methods are explained in Select Absolute or Relative Lunch Times, 1-233.

Priority field

This is the priority (1-10) that is associated with each lunch time preference, with 1 being the lunch time you want the most, and 10 being the lowest priority. To change the priority, click the edit your lunch time preference priorities link located above the lunch time preference table. For more information on editing lunch time preference priorities, see Prioritizing Lunch Time Preferences, 1-242.

Preference field

This is a description of each lunch time preference that has been defined. For example, "I would like to go to lunch as late as possible, but no later than 3:00 PM".

Edit (Lunch Time Preferences) Link

Click the edit link to edit this lunch time preference. See Edit your Lunch Time Preferences, 1-235 for detailed information on how to modify a lunch time preference.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-233). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit lunch time preferences.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to click the edit link: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again"

Delete (Lunch Time Preferences) Link

To delete a lunch time preference, click the delete link next to a lunch time preference shown on the table for an individual day (Figure 1-99), or for all days (Figure 1-100). The following message is displayed:

"Are you sure you want to delete this lunch time preference?"

Click OK to delete this lunch time preference. If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again". Click Cancel if you do not want to delete this lunch time preference.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-233). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit lunch time preferences.

If all lunch time preferences have been deleted for a particular day (or for all days), the lunch time preferences page will then display the text "No preferences have been entered" for that day (or for each day of the week if deleting the only preference for "all days").

Use Preferences for All Days of the Week

To choose a particular day's lunch time which you want to use for all days of the week, click the use these preferences for all days of the week link. This link is only displayed when viewing lunch times for individual days of the week, see Figure 1-99. When you click this link, the following message is displayed:

"Are you sure you want to use your <day of week> lunch time preferences for all days of the week?"

Click OK to use this lunch time for all days of the week, and the lunch time preferences will be displayed as shown in Figure 1-100. Click Cancel if you do not want any changes to be made, and the page will still be displayed with all days of the week shown.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to click this link: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again".

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-233). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit lunch time preferences.

Enter Preferences for Each Day of the Week

If you want each day of the week to have the same lunch time as the lunch time(s) assigned to "all days", click the enter preferences for each day of the week link. This link is only displayed when viewing lunch times for all days of the week, see Figure 1-100. Once you click this link, the lunch time page, as shown in Figure 1-99 is displayed, and this lunch time(s) from the day of the week you selected will be copied for each individual day. If you then want to edit this lunch time for an individual day, see Edit your Lunch Time Preferences, 1-235.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to click this link: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again".

Add a Lunch Time Preference for <day of week> link

Click the add a lunch time preference for <day of week> link shown for one of the days of the week, to add a lunch time preference for that day (see Figure 1-99). If viewing the "all days" page (see Figure 1-100), then click the add a lunch time preference link, to add a lunch time preference that would apply to all days of the week. For details on how to add a lunch time preference, see Add a Lunch Time Preference, 1-242.

Edit your Lunch Time Preferences

NOTE: When adding a new lunch time preference (see Add a Lunch Time Preference, 1-242), this same page is displayed. The instructions for using this page to add a new lunch time preference are the same as the following instructions for editing a lunch time preference.

This page, similar to Figure 1-102 (if using absolute times) or Figure 1-103 (if using relative times) is displayed when you click the edit link next to one of the lunch time preferences on the individual Lunch Times preference page (see Figure 1-99), or when you click the edit link on the Lunch Times preference page for "all days" (see Figure 1-100). The add/edit lunch time preferences page shows you the lunch time option and time value(s) for the selected preference currently being displayed in the Lunch Times page.

NOTE: Depending on whether you have chosen "relative" or "absolute" as the preference method, the wording for these preferences will reflect either actual times, or hours after start. The preference methods are explained in Select Absolute or Relative Lunch Times, 1-233.

Figure 1-103 . Add/Edit Lunch Times - Set to Relative Times (Page 1 of 2)

Figure 1-103. Add/Edit Lunch Times - Set to Relative Times (Page 2 of 2)

NOTE: Only the preference options that you have been given permission for will be shown on this page. If no lunch time options are available for editing, then the following message is shown: "Your MU configuration does not allow any options for entering lunch time preferences".

On this page you can edit the values for the selected option, or choose a different lunch time preference option. You are only allowed to choose one lunch time option for each preference. All time entries must be between 00:00 and 23:55, or 00:00 and 23:45, depending on the schedule period length (5 or 15 minutes). Blank is a valid value as well. You may enter minutes, but the minutes must be in 5 or 15 minute increments, depending on the schedule period length that has been set up by your supervisor. The text for these options may change, depending on whether you have set your times to "absolute" or "relative (see Select Absolute or Relative Lunch Times, 1-233). The following options are available to choose as described below.

List Preferred Lunch Times

Choose this option to be able to list up to 12 lunch time choices for this lunch preference. Once this option is chosen, enter a lunch time between 00:00 and 23:55, or 00:00 and 23:45, depending on the schedule period length (5 or 15 minutes). You can enter up to 12 preferences, but do not have to enter a value for all 12. These are listed in order of priority, with "1st" as the most desired lunch time. NOTE: This option is selected by default, when adding a new preference (if you have permission for this option).

Choose this option if you want to go to lunch as close to a specified time as possible. Enter a value for the actual time you would like to go to lunch. In addition you can enter values for the optional fields, indicating that you do not want to go to lunch earlier than a certain time, and not later than a specified time. With this option, a later lunch time is attempted to be scheduled first when your schedule is being generated.

Relative

Choose this option if you want to go to lunch as close to a certain number of hours after your schedule start time. Enter a value for the number of hours after your start time that you would like to go to lunch. With this option, a later lunch time is attempted to be scheduled first when your schedule is being generated.

Lunch Time close to "x", between a Range (prefer earlier time)

Absolute

This option is the same as Lunch Time close to "x", between a Range (prefer later time), 1-241, however with this option, an earlier time is attempted to be scheduled first when schedules are generated.

Save or Cancel Lunch Time Preferences

To save your modified lunch time preferences, click the save button. If any errors occur while saving (for example, you left a time field blank for the option you chose) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

To cancel the changes you made to your lunch time preferences, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Once you have edited and saved your preferences, you may want to edit your preference priorities. See Prioritizing Lunch Time Preferences, 1-242 for instructions on prioritizing lunch time preferences.

Add a Lunch Time Preference

To add a lunch time preference for a particular day of the week, click the add a lunch time preference for <day of week> link, as shown in Figure 1-99. To add a lunch time preference for all days, click the add a lunch time preference link, as shown in Figure 1-100. The same lunch time preference page that is displayed when you select the edit link is shown, similar to Figure 1-102 (if using absolute times) or Figure 1-103 (if using relative times). However, the first lunch time preference option (list) is selected as the default, as long as you have permission to edit this option. If you do not have permission for the "list" option, then no option is selected when you are adding a new lunch time preference. You may add up to 10 lunch time preference options for each individual day, or 10 preferences for "all days".

To define a new lunch time preference, see Edit your Lunch Time Preferences, 1-235 for detailed instructions.

NOTE: Only the preference options that you have been given permission for will be shown on this page. If no lunch time options are available for editing, then the following message is shown: "Your MU configuration does not allow any options for entering lunch time preferences".

Preference Priorities

Once you save your new preference (as described in Save or Cancel Lunch Time Preferences, 1-241), this preference will be given a priority number. If this is the first preference created for the day of week (or for "all days"), then a priority of "1" will be given to this preference. If preferences have already been created for this day (or for "all days"), then this preference will be given the next priority order. For example, if 3 preferences already exist, then when you save this preference, it will be given a priority of "4". (NOTE: A priority of "1" is the preference that you most want for this day or for "all days".) To edit your preference priorities, see Prioritizing Lunch Time Preferences, 1-242 for instructions on prioritizing lunch time preferences.

Prioritizing Lunch Time Preferences

Once you have edited or entered new lunch time preferences, you may want to re-prioritize the importance of the preferences. You can prioritize up to 10 preferences for an individual day, or you can prioritize up to 10 preferences that represent "all days". When schedules are being generated, the preferences with the highest priority are considered first, with "1" being the most desired preference for each day, or for "all days". The preference priority page contains the same data as shown on the Lunch Times preference page.

NOTE: Depending on whether you have chosen "relative" or "absolute" as the preference method, the wording for these preferences will reflect either actual times, or hours after start. The preference methods are explained in Select Absolute or Relative Lunch Times, 1-233.

Edit Priorities for Individual Day Lunch Time Preferences

To edit your lunch time preference priorities for individual days, click the edit your lunch time preference priorities link located above the preference table on the individual day Lunch Times preference page (see Figure 1-99). When you click this link, a page similar to Figure 1-104 is displayed.

Figure 1-104 . Edit Lunch Time Priorities - Individual Days

Note that Figure 1-104 has a "special preference" for Sunday, so you are not allowed to edit the priorities for that day.

To modify a lunch time priority, enter a priority between 1-10, or select the Priority drop list button and select a priority value (1-10) from the list. No two preferences within a day can have the same priority value, but you do not have to use consecutive numbers.

Once you have edited lunch time preference priorities, click the save button to save these priorities. If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered for more than one preference on the same day) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

Once priorities are saved, the Lunch Times preference page is displayed, showing the modified priorities.

To cancel the changes you made to your lunch time priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Edit Priorities for "All Days" Lunch Time Preferences

To edit your lunch time preference priorities for "all days", click the edit your lunch time preference priorities link located above the preference table on the "all days" Lunch Times preference page (see Figure 1-100). When you click this link, a page similar to Figure 1-104 is displayed.

Figure 1-105 . Add/Edit Lunch Time Priorities - All Days

To modify a lunch time priority, enter a priority between 1-10, or select the Priority drop list button and select a priority value (1-10) from the list. No two preferences can have the same priority value, but you do not have to use consecutive numbers.

Once you have edited lunch time preference priorities, click the save button to save these priorities. If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered for more than one preference) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

Once priorities are saved, the Lunch Times preference page is displayed, showing the modified priorities.

To cancel the changes you made to your lunch time priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Start Times Preferences

The Start Times preferences page, shown similar to Figure 1-106, allows you to view the start times you prefer for each day of the week. If all days of the week have the same start time preferences, then you will see a page similar to Figure 1-107. You are able to edit, delete, add, and prioritize start time preferences, as explained in this section. The start time preferences allow the flexibility to determine the schedule start times that are most important to you. The schedule generation process will take into consideration each agent's start time preferences when generating schedules.

Note that Figure 1-108 shows as an example of a "special preference". You are not allowed to add, edit, or delete start time preferences for any day noted as having a "special preference". For more information on special preferences, see Special Preferences.

Figure 1-106 . Start Time Preferences Page - View (Individual Days)

Figure 1-107 . Start Time Preferences Page - View (All Days)

Figure 1-108 . Start Time Preferences Page - View (Special Preferences)

Special Preferences

For any individual day (or "all days) where a "special preference" has been set up by your supervisor, the edit, delete, and add links will not be shown. If there are any days of the week where a special preference has not been entered, then you are able to edit, delete, add, and edit priorities for these days. In the example in Figure 1-108, a special preference has been entered for "Sunday", so edit, delete, and add links do not appear for this day (but are available for the other days of the week). The note below Sunday's preference indicates that a special preference has been entered.

Start Time Preferences Table

The view-only Start Time table shows your preferred start times for each day of the week (or for all days), for the selected date range. If no start time preferences have been entered for any day of the week, or for "all days", then the following text is shown in place of the start time preferences: "No start time preferences have been entered". If your supervisor has set up a template for your start times, then the following text is shown in place of the start time preferences: "Your preferences cannot be displayed because they contain template-specific information".

Note that the time values all represent "absolute" times (for example, 8:00 AM) whereas in the Lunch Times and Stop Times pages, you may choose either absolute or relative times.

The following fields are shown in the start time preferences table for individual days (see Figure 1-106), or for all days (see Figure 1-107) for the selected date range:

Priority field

This is the priority (1-10) that is associated with each start time preference, with 1 being the start time you want the most, and 10 being the lowest priority. To change the priority, click the edit your start time preference priorities link located above the start time preference table. For more information on editing start time preference priorities, see Prioritizing Start Time Preferences, 1-255.

Preference field

This is a description of each start time preference that has been defined. For example, "I would like to start as late as possible, but no later than 3:00 PM".

Edit (Start Time Preferences) Link

Click the edit link to edit this start time preference. See Edit your Start Time Preferences, 1-252 for detailed information on how to modify a start time preference.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-250). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit start time preferences.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to click the edit link: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again"

Delete (Start Time Preferences) Link

To delete a start time preference, select the delete link next to a start time preference shown on the table for an individual day (Figure 1-106), or for all days (Figure 1-107). The following message is displayed:

"Are you sure you want to delete this start time preference?"

Click OK to delete this start time preference. If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again". Click Cancel if you do not want to delete this start time preference.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-250). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit start time preferences.

If all start time preferences have been deleted for a particular day (or for all days), the start time preferences page will then display the text "No preferences have been entered" for that day (or for each day of the week if deleting the only preference for "all days").

Use Preferences for All Days of the Week

To choose a particular day's start time which you want to use for all days of the week, click the use these preferences for all days of the week link. This link is only displayed when viewing start times for individual days of the week, see Figure 1-106. When you click this link, the following message is displayed:

"Are you sure you want to use your <day of week> start time preferences for all days of the week?"

Click OK to use this start time for all days of the week, and the start time preferences will be displayed as shown in Figure 1-107.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-250). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit start time preferences.

Enter Preferences for Each Day of the Week

If you want each day of the week to have the same start time as the start time(s) assigned to "all days", click the use these preferences for each day of the week link. This link is only displayed when viewing start times for all days of the week, see Figure 1-107. Once you click this link, the start time page, as shown in Figure 1-106 is displayed, and the start time(s) from the day you selected will be copied for each individual day. If you then want to edit this start time for an individual day, see Edit your Start Time Preferences, 1-252.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to click this link: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again".

Add a Start Time Preference for <day of week> link

Click the add a start time preference for <day of week> link shown for one of the days of the week, to add a start time preference for that day (see Figure 1-106). If viewing the "all days" page (see Figure 1-107), then click the add a start time preference link, to add a start time preference that would apply to all days of the week. For details on how to add a start time preference, see Add a Start Time Preference, 1-255.

Edit your Start Time Preferences

NOTE: When adding a new start time preference (see Add a Start Time Preference, 1-255), this same page is displayed. The instructions for using this page to add a new start time preference are the same as the following instructions for editing a start time preference.

This page, similar to Figure 1-109 is displayed when you click the edit link next to one of the start time preferences on the individual Start Times preference page (see Figure 1-106), or when you click the edit link on the Start Times preference page for "all days" (see Figure 1-107). The add/edit start time preferences page shows you the start time option and time value(s) for the selected preference currently being displayed in the Start Times page.

Figure 1-109 . Add/Edit Start Times

NOTE: Only the preference options that you have been given permission for will be shown on this page. If no start time options are available for editing, then the following message is shown: "Your MU configuration does not allow any options for entering start time preferences".

On this page, you can edit the values for the selected option, or choose a different start time preference option. You are only allowed to choose one start time option for each preference. The following options are available to choose as described below.

List Preferred Start Times

Choose this option to be able to list up to 12 start time choices for this start preference. Once this option is chosen, enter a start time between 00:00 and 23:55, or 00:00 and 23:45, depending on the schedule period length (5 or 15 minutes). You can enter up to 12 preferences, but do not have to enter a value for all 12. These are listed in order of priority, with "1st" as the most desired start time. NOTE: This option is selected by default, when adding a new preference (if you have permission for this option).

Once you have edited and saved your preferences, you may want to edit your preference priorities. See Prioritizing Start Time Preferences, 1-255 for instructions on prioritizing start time preferences.

Add a Start Time Preference

To add a start time preference for a particular day of the week, click the add a start time preference for <day of week> link, as shown in Figure 1-106. To add a start time preference for all days, click the add a start time preference link, as shown in Figure 1-107. The same start time preference page that is displayed when you select the edit link is shown, similar to Figure 1-109. However, the first start time preference option (list) is selected as the default, as long as you have permission to edit this option. If you do not have permission for the "list" option, then no option is selected when you are adding a new start time preference. You may add up to 10 start time preference options for each individual day, or 10 preferences for "all days".

To define a new start time preference, see Edit your Start Time Preferences, 1-252 for detailed instructions.

NOTE: Only the preference options that you have been given permission for will be shown on this page. If no start time options are available for editing, then the following message is shown: "Your MU configuration does not allow any options for entering start time preferences".

Preference Priorities

Once you save your new preference (as described in Save or Cancel Start Time Preferences, 1-255), this preference will be given a priority number. (NOTE: A priority of "1" is the preference that you most want for this day or for "all days".) To edit your preference priorities, see Prioritizing Start Time Preferences, 1-255 for instructions on prioritizing start time preferences.

Prioritizing Start Time Preferences

Once you have edited or entered new start time preferences, you may want to re-prioritize the importance of the preferences. You can prioritize up to 10 preferences for an individual day, or you can prioritize up to 10 preferences that represent "all days". When schedules are being generated, the preferences with the highest priority are considered first, with "1" being the most desired preference for each day, or for "all days". The preference priority page contains the same data as shown on the Start Times preference page.

Edit Priorities for Individual Day Start Time Preferences

To edit your start time preference priorities for individual days, click the edit your start time preference priorities link located above the preference table on the individual day Start Times preference page (see Figure 1-106). When you click this link, a page similar to Figure 1-110 is displayed.

Figure 1-110 . Edit Start Time Priorities - Individual Days

Note that Figure 1-110 has a "special preference" for Sunday, so you are not allowed to edit the priorities for that day.

To modify a start time priority, enter a priority between 1-10, or select the Priority drop list button and select a priority value (1-10) from the list. No two preferences within a day can have the same priority value, but you do not have to use consecutive numbers.

Once you have edited start time preference priorities, click the save button to save these priorities. If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered for more than one preference on the same day) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

Once priorities are saved, the Start Times preference page is displayed, showing the modified priorities.

To cancel the changes you made to your start time priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Edit Priorities for "All Days" Start Time Preferences

To edit your start time preference priorities for "all days", click the edit your start time preference priorities link located above the preference table on the "all days" Start Times preference page (see Figure 1-107). When you click this link, a page similar to Figure 1-111 is displayed.

Figure 1-111 . Add/Edit Start Time Priorities - All Days

To modify a start time priority, enter a priority between 1-10, or select the Priority drop list button and select a priority value (1-10) from the list. No two preferences can have the same priority value, but you do not have to use consecutive numbers.

Once you have edited start time preference priorities, click the save button to save these priorities. If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered for more than one preference) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

Once priorities are saved, the Start Times preference page is displayed, showing the modified priorities.

To cancel the changes you made to your start time priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Stop Times Preferences

The Stop Times preferences page, shown similar to Figure 1-112, allows you to view the stop times you prefer for each day of the week. If all days of the week have the same stop time preferences, then you will see a page similar to Figure 1-113. You are able to edit, delete, add, and prioritize stop time preferences, as explained in this section. The stop time preferences allow the flexibility to determine the stop times that are most important to you. The schedule generation process will take into consideration each agent's stop time preferences when generating schedules.

Note that Figure 1-114 shows as an example of a "special preference". You are not allowed to add, edit, or delete stop time preferences for any day noted as having a "special preference". For more information on special preferences, see Special Preferences, 1-264.

Figure 1-112 . Stop Time Preferences Page - View (Individual Days)

Figure 1-113 . Stop Time Preferences Page - View (All Days)

Figure 1-114 . Stop Time Preferences Page - View (Special Preferences)

Special Preferences

For any individual day (or "all days) where a "special preference" has been set up by your supervisor, the edit, delete, and add links will not be shown. If there are any days of the week where a special preference has not been entered, then you are able to edit, delete, add, and edit priorities for these days. In the example in Figure 1-114, a special preference has been entered for "Sunday", so edit, delete, and add links do not appear for this day (but are available for the other days of the week). The note below Sunday's preference indicates that a special preference has been entered.

Select Absolute or Relative Stop Times

The "Stop times are" field indicates the stop time preference method that has been chosen for your stop times for this date range. When you chance the preference method in this field, the wording in the Stop Time Preference table will change to reflect the option you have chosen.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to change this field: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again"

Relative Stop Times

If this field is set to "relative to my schedule stop time", then stop times listed on this preference page will represent a specific number of hours after your scheduled stop time that you want your schedule to end. For example, if there is a forced stop time of "9:00", this means you want your schedule to stop 9:00 hours after your schedule stop time. If lunch time preferences have not yet been defined, this field defaults to "relative to my schedule stop time".

Absolute Stop Times

If this field is set to "absolute clock times", then stop times listed on this preference page will represent a specific time you want your schedule to stop. For example, if there is a forced stop time of "5:30 AM", this means you want your schedule to end at 5:30 AM (regardless of the schedule start time).

Stop Time Preferences Table

The view-only Stop Time table shows your preferred stop times for each day of the week (or for all days), for the selected date range. If no stop time preferences have been entered for any day of the week, or for "all days", then the following text is shown in place of the stop time preferences: "No stop time preferences have been entered". If your supervisor has set up a template for your stop times, then the following text is shown in place of the stop time preferences: "Your preferences cannot be displayed because they contain template-specific information".

The following fields are shown in the stop time preference table for individual days (see Figure 1-112), or for all days (see Figure 1-113) for the selected date range:

NOTE: Depending on whether you have chosen "relative" or "absolute" as the preference method, the wording for these preferences will reflect either actual times, or hours after start. The preference methods are explained in Select Absolute or Relative Stop Times, 1-264.

Priority field

This is the priority (1-10) that is associated with each stop time preference, with 1 being the stop time you want the most, and 10 being the lowest priority. To change the priority click the edit your stop time preference priorities link located above the stop time preference table. For more information on editing stop time preference priorities, see Prioritizing Stop Time Preferences, 1-271.

Preference field

This is a description of each stop time preference that has been defined. For example, "I would like to stop as late as possible, but no later than 6:00 PM".

Edit (Stop Time Preferences) Link

Click the edit link to edit this stop time preference. See Edit your Stop Time Preferences, 1-266 for detailed information on how to modify a stop time preference.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-264). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit stop time preferences.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to click the edit link: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again"

Delete (Stop Time Preferences) Link

To delete a stop time preference, select the delete link next to a stop time preference shown on the table for an individual day (Figure 1-112), or for all days (Figure 1-113). The following message is displayed:

"Are you sure you want to delete this stop time preference?"

Click OK to delete this stop time preference. If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again". Click Cancel if you do not want to delete this stop time preference.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-264). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit stop time preferences.

If all stop time preferences have been deleted for a particular day (or for all days), the stop time preferences page will then display the text "No preferences have been entered" for that day (or for each day of the week if deleting the only preference for "all days").

Use Preferences for All Days of the Week

To choose a particular day's stop time that you want to use for all days of the week, click the use these preferences for all days of the week link. This link is only displayed when viewing stop times for individual days of the week, see Figure 1-112. When you click this link, the following message is displayed:

"Are you sure you want to use your <day of week> stop time preferences for all days of the week?"

Click OK to use this stop time for all days of the week, and the stop time preferences will be displayed as shown in Figure 1-113.

NOTE: This link is hidden for days of the week on which a special preference exists (as explained in Special Preferences, 1-264). This link is hidden for all days if you do not have permission to edit stop time preferences.

Enter Preferences for Each Day of the Week

If you want each day of the week to have the same stop time as the stop time(s) assigned to "all days", click the enter preferences for each day of the week link. This link is only displayed when viewing stop times for all days of the week, see Figure 1-113. Once you click this link, the Stop Time page, as shown in Figure 1-112 is displayed, and the stop time(s) from the day of the week you selected will be copied for each individual day. If you then want to edit this stop time for an individual day, see Edit your Stop Time Preferences, 1-266.

NOTE: If the database table cannot be locked, the following message is displayed when you attempt to click this link: "Your preferences cannot be modified at this time because the data cannot be locked. Please try again".

Add a Stop Time Preference for <day of week> link

Click the add a stop time preference for <day of week> link shown for one of the days of the week, to add a stop time preference for that day (see Figure 1-112). If viewing the "all days" page (see Figure 1-113), then click the add a stop time preference link, to add a stop time preference that would apply to all days of the week. For details on how to add a stop time preference, see Add a Stop Time Preference, 1-271.

Edit your Stop Time Preferences

NOTE: When adding a new stop time preference (see Add a Stop Time Preference, 1-271), this same page is displayed. The instructions for using this page to add a new stop time preference are the same as the following instructions for editing a stop time preference.

This page, similar to Figure 1-115 (if using absolute times) or Figure 1-116 (if using relative times) is displayed when you click the edit link next to one of the stop time preferences on the individual day Stop Times preference page (see Figure 1-112), or when you click the edit link on the Stop Times preference page for "all days" (see Figure 1-113). The add/edit Stop Times preferences page shows you the stop time option and time value(s) for the selected preference currently being displayed in the Stop Times page.

NOTE: Depending on whether you have chosen "relative" or "absolute" as the preference method, the wording for these preferences will reflect either times, or hours after start. The preference methods are explained in Select Absolute or Relative Stop Times, 1-264.

Figure 1-115 . Add/Edit Stop Times - (Set to Absolute Times)

Figure 1-116 . Add/Edit Stop Times - (Set to Relative Times)

NOTE: Only the preference options that you have been given permission for will be shown on this page. If no stop time options are available for editing, then the following message is shown: "Your MU configuration does not allow any options for entering stop time preferences".

On this page you can edit the values for the selected option, or choose a different stop time preference option. You are only allowed to choose one stop time option for each preference. The text for these options may change, depending on whether you have set your times to "absolute" or "relative (see Select Absolute or Relative Stop Times, 1-264). The following options are available to choose as described below.

List Preferred Stop Times

Choose this option to be able to list up to 12 stop time choices for this stop preference. Once this option is chosen, enter a stop time between 00:00 and 23:55, or 00:00 and 23:45, depending on the schedule period length (5 or 15 minutes). You can enter up to 12 preferences, but do not have to enter a value for all 12. These are listed in order of priority, with "1st" as the most desired schedule stop time. NOTE: This option is selected by default, when adding a new preference (if you have permission for this option).

Save or Cancel Stop Time Preferences

To save your modified stop time preferences, click the save button. If any errors occur while saving (for example, you left a time field blank for the option you chose) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

To cancel the changes you made to your stop time preferences, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Once you have edited and saved your preferences, you may want to edit your preference priorities. See Prioritizing Stop Time Preferences, 1-271 for instructions on prioritizing stop time preferences.

Add a Stop Time Preference

To add a stop time preference for a particular day of the week, click the add a stop time preference for <day of week> link, as shown in Figure 1-112. To add a stop time preference for all days, click the add a stop time preference link, as shown in Figure 1-113. The same stop time preference page that is displayed when you select the edit link is shown, similar to Figure 1-115 (if using absolute times) or Figure 1-116 (if using relative times). However, the first stop time preference option (list) is selected as the default, as long as you have permission to edit this option. If you do not have permission for the "list" option, then no option is selected when you are adding a new stop time preference. You may add up to 10 stop time preference options for each individual day, or 10 preferences for "all days".

To define a new stop time preference, see Edit your Stop Time Preferences, 1-266 for detailed instructions.

NOTE: Only the preference options that you have been given permission for will be shown on this page. If no stop time options are available for editing, then the following message is shown: "Your MU configuration does not allow any options for entering stop time preferences".

Preference Priorities

Once you save your new preference (as described in Save or Cancel Stop Time Preferences, 1-271), this preference will be given a priority number. (NOTE: A priority of "1" is the preference that you most want for this day or for "all days".) To edit your preference priorities, see Prioritizing Stop Time Preferences, 1-271 for instructions on prioritizing stop time preferences.

Prioritizing Stop Time Preferences

Once you have edited or entered new stop time preferences, you may want to re-prioritize the importance of the preferences. You can prioritize up to 10 preferences for an individual day, or you can prioritize up to 10 preferences that represent "all days". When schedules are being generated, the preferences with the highest priority are considered first, with "1" being the most desired preference for each day, or for "all days". The preference priority page contains the same data as shown on the Stop Times preference page.

NOTE: Depending on whether you have chosen "relative" or "absolute" as the preference method, the wording for these preferences will reflect either actual times, or hours after start. The preference methods are explained in Select Absolute or Relative Stop Times, 1-264.

Edit Priorities for Individual Day Stop Time Preferences

To edit your stop time preference priorities for individual days, click the edit your stop time preference priorities link located above the preference table on the individual Stop Times preference page (see Figure 1-112). When you click this link, a page similar to Figure 1-117 is displayed.

If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered for more than one preference on the same day) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

Once priorities are saved, the Stop Times preference page is displayed, showing the modified priorities.

To cancel the changes you made to your stop time priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.

Edit Priorities for "All Days" Stop Time Preferences

To edit your stop time preference priorities for "all days", click the edit your stop time preference priorities link located above the preference table on the "all days" Stop Times preference page (see Figure 1-113). When you click this link, a page similar to Figure 1-118 is displayed.

Figure 1-118 . Edit Stop Time Priorities - All Days

To modify a stop time priority, enter a priority between 1-10, or select the Priority drop list button and select a priority value (1-10) from the list. No two preferences can have the same priority value, but you do not have to use consecutive numbers.

Once you have edited stop time preference priorities, click the save button to save these priorities. If any errors occur while saving (for example, the same priority value is entered for more than one preference) an error message will be shown. Correct the error, then click save again.

Once priorities are saved, the Stop Times preference page is displayed, showing the modified priorities.

To cancel the changes you made to your stop time priorities, click the cancel button and no changes will be saved.
